Hello! My name is Amber Lamar and I am the Lead School Counselor, PBIS Coach and Assistant Cheerleading Coach here at Central High School. I am the counselor for the Freshman and Seniors with the Last Name G-M. I received my bachelors from Albany State University in 2015. Where I participated in a host of organizations and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. After receiving my bachelors, I had the opportunity of working in the Mental Health field and with the Department of Juvenile Justice. Through that experience, it motivated me to pursue a career path in School Counseling because I believe we are in the business of second chances.
While pursuing my masters I had the opportunity to work as a long-term sub in Bibb and later as a Special Education Teacher in Twiggs County. I received my Masters and Specialist in School Counseling from Fort Valley State University. I have the pleasure of serving at my alma mater, home of the Orange and Blue, Central High School.
Bailey, my only daughter is my pride and joy who keeps me busy outside of educating. My educational philosophy is "Every Day is a New Day and Every Student is Different." I love to travel and spend time with my family and friends in my free time.
